Who Said It
As a member of the Canadian Parliament, Stockwell Day has taken a strong stand for traditional values and democratic reform in his nation's government. He is a member of the Canadian Alliance party and serves as the Foreign Affairs Critic in the Shadow Cabinet of Canada. The task of the Official Opposition's Shadow Cabinet is to keep the government in power responsible for its actions by questioning what the government does.
Before politics, Day and his wife worked with Teen Challenge in Edmonton, Alberta, helping the homeless and drug addicts find help in Jesus Christ. What He Said
Americans need to be thanked for being a reservoir of understanding of what God-given freedom is and how it needs to be protected. The world needs America to continue to stand for God-given freedom. I encourage all people to realize each one of us in a democracy has a responsibility to do what we can to the best of our abilities to protect and strengthen that democracy. That means realizing there are principles and policies that can either strengthen or weaken a nation. As individual citizens it's a matter of stewardship. Democracy is a gift. If we care for it, it will flourish; if we don't, it can wither and die. Let your faith motivate you to be a positive, effective, and loving force in the society around you.
