If you ever need anything, you can always call me." Those were the words of Mr. B___. He and his family really helped my mother, brother, sister, and me after the death of my father. At 17—two months before graduating from high school—I was simply lost. With Dad gone, Mr. B___ was the only mentor I had. He represented true masculinity in my eyes: a strong confident man of God, a man of influence.
But recently my wife and I were shopping in the mall and saw Mr. B___. As he walked towards us, he waved from a distance and kept walking. You see, Mr. B___ was shopping, but not with his wife; he was with another woman.
I got up the nerve to call him over. "How are you doing, Mr. B___?" The shame on his face matched the pain on mine. "All is well," he managed. "Please tell Mrs. B___ I said hello," I requested. He hesitated. "I will," he said almost inaudibly as his companion looked the other way.
Your life speaks loudly to others who are watching you. Living a blameless life has long-term effects on others. So strive to be like Noah who, according to Genesis 6:9, "consistently followed God's will and enjoyed a close relationship with him."
