Raised in Alabama, Ray Pritchard has pastored Calvary Memorial Church in Oak Park, Illinois, for the past 16 years. Ray is a prolific writer, regular conference speaker, and frequent talk-show guest. In 2000, a weekly newspaper spread the verbatim transcript of his public dialogue with a local gay minister on the front pages of three consecutive issues. How many people do you know whom you could trust to do exactly what they say? Must of us probably know some reliable people who seem very dependable to us. But the answer to any question depends on how you ask it. So let me ask the question like this:

How many people do you know who, no matter what the circumstances and no matter how they feel, will always do exactly what they say every single time and do it with such thoroughness and perfection that you never have to worry about anything they say or do because you know if they say it, they will definitely do it without fail, without change, and without excuse?

Asked in that way, the question isn't really about people at all. No person could meet all the qualifications of the second question, which is really about God. He alone is 100 percent faithful 100 percent of the time.
