Who Said It…Voddie Baucham Jr.
Voddie Baucham Jr. is a sought-after speaker for seminars, college lecture series, and Bible conferences because of his insights, passionate exposition, and commitment to sound biblical theology. Voddie is a graduate of both Southwestern and Southeastern Baptist Seminaries, and has done postgraduate study at Oxford University in England.
What He Said…Turning the Tables
Homosexual activists stood outside the 2002 Southern Baptist Convention, picketing because of what they considered intolerance.
The convention wasn't taking a position on any gay issue. The problem, the picketers said, was that homosexuals weren't represented in convention leadership. Reporters deemed acceptable the demand of a vocal political group that an entire denomination deny the teachings of the Bible upon which it was founded to accommodate their views and practices.
But imagine what it would be like if a bunch of angry men and women who called themselves Christians had gathered carrying signs that demanded changes in the beliefs and structures of a homosexual organization. I can just see the headline: "Homophobic fundamentalist Christians disrupt gay rights rally in a monumental display of intolerance." Good Morning America would have a parade of guests bemoaning the fact that people aren't allowed to do whatever they want in the privacy of their bedrooms.
