Crawford Loritts Jr. founded Campus Crusade for Christ's Legacy Ministries, committed to rebuilding and restoring strong, godly families in urban America. A frequent speaker at Promise Keepers events, Crawford recently became senior pastor of Fellowship Bible Church in Roswell, Georgia. He and Karen have four children: three are married and in ministry; the fourth is a university student.

In Ecclesiastes King Solomon lays out five principles (interwoven throughout the book) we can use to restructure our value system:

1. Ultimately, human wisdom is empty. Even if brilliant, our minds can't direct or control our destiny. We must depend upon God.
2. We must all face the laws that govern life. Wealth and wisdom didn't exempt Solomon from the pain and pressures of life. If we look to God for hope, unrealized dreams or unanticipated suffering won't destroy our sense of significance and worth.
3. There's no lasting value in earthly goods. Enjoy the things of life; but God and His purposes must be the source of our joy—not fads, fashions, or expectations of others.
4. We must be humbly grateful for our lot in life. None of us selected our parents, and our success is due more to God's giving than our maneuvering.
5. We must live understanding that there is life after death. The here and now is not it. We're citizens of heaven with a temporary residence and work permit in the world.
