Mike was a commercial printer with a special interest in Muslims. He often wondered how he might use his vocational skills in serving these people.

But Mike's wife felt keenly the responsibilities of rearing their two children and didn't feel comfortable with the idea of living in a distant, perhaps dangerous country. As Mike kept his sense of challenge before her, one day Donelyn responded with what she figured was a safe offer. "Well, if you can find a mission assignment in England, I'm willing to go!"

Not long afterward, I shared with Mike an opportunity I'd just learned about. A mission agency that provides Christian literature for the Muslim world needed a printer with the skills to typeset by computer to publish their material in Arabic. Mike's response was both eager and guarded. He said he was willing to go anywhere, but jokingly added that his wife's call was limited to England. I couldn't believe what he was saying. The printer needed to fill this job would be located in southern England!

Soon after, the entire family left and served effectively for several years until the publishing task was completed.
