Valerie was pregnant again, and we expected to have a third child eventually. Since our house was small, we began thinking about a larger one. The real estate agent we contacted drove us around. We saw many fine houses—all for more than we were willing to pay.

So we took [today's God's Word verses] to heart. We discussed what kind of house would make us both content. We wrote down seven specifics: 1) exactly how much money we'd spend, 2) the general location, 3) the inside accommodations we required, 4) at least eight-tenths of an acre, 5) a detached guest section, 6) a sports court, and 7) a privacy gate. Then we prayed, "You can make it happen. If you provide a house that matches our request, we'll know it's your will for us to stay in Seattle with the Seahawks."

On March 15, we took our list to our real estate agent and read it to her. She laughed. "You'll never find all those things for that price."

We didn't argue. We were willing to trust God to provide. Back home, we added an eighth item to our list: "April 1"—asking God to provide in just two weeks! We prayed, we believed, and we rested. [continued 1/17]
