Who Said It … Craig Glickman
Craig Glickman has written two books about the Song of Solomon! He wrote the first one more than 20 years ago, while a Dallas Seminary student. After that, he earned a doctorate in biblical studies and philosophy from the University of Basel in Switzerland, eventually becoming a professor of ancient languages. Now he's written Solomon's Song of Love. "I couldn't have written it without the intervening years," he says. "Additional study was needed, of course. But so was life experience." What He Said … Fantasy Talk
My SMU friends and I sat talking, catching our breath after playing touch football. Out of the blue, one guy asked, "Craig, what's your number one sexual fantasy?"
The other guys stopped talking. I tensed a little, shy about discussing something that personal in front of my fraternity brothers. "I'll tell you my main sexual fantasy," I finally said. "I'll bet it's the most difficult fantasy to realize too—and that a lot of people imagine it, but seldom admit it."
"Tell us," my friend said eagerly. The other guys nudged closer to hear.
"Well …" I took a breath. "My main fantasy is … to make love to the woman I deeply love."
Silence. Some of the guys looked puzzled, as if they'd walked into the wrong movie. But then I saw in my friend's expression that I wasn't alone. He paused, looking almost sad. "You're right," he said. "I've never thought of it that way, but you're really right."
