Weekend Wrap-Up Theme of the Week: Bridge the Musical Gap Saturday, October 17, 2009
 1 of 1

This grand finale to the Psalter recognizes music as a gift from God to be given back to him as an offering, as a response to what he has done for his people. It's a high-energy summons to celebrate the glory of the Almighty through music. Joining our voices to make beautiful, joyful music connects us with other believers like nothing else. Interact with God's Word
Psalm 150:1-6
- Who (v. 6) is invited to join in the praise celebration?
- What venues (v. 1) are envisioned for this performance?
- What are to be the themes (v. 2) of the compositions or improvisations?
- Is this artistic celebration (vv. 3-5) limited to vocal and instrumental expressions?
- Why do you think David calls for the playing of so many instruments?
- What range of instruments is available for our use today?
- Are only certain instruments suitable for worship accompaniment? If so, which ones? And why the restriction?
- How can you best participate in, and contribute to, worship that embraces all the arts?
Spend Time in Prayer
Ask God to help you and your family members to savor and create music in ways that both bring you fully alive and worthily honor him.
Psalm 150:1-6
1 Praise the Lord!
Praise God in his sanctuary;
praise him in his mighty heaven!
2 Praise him for his mighty works;
praise his unequaled greatness!
3 Praise him with a blast of the ram's horn;
praise him with the lyre and harp!
4 Praise him with the tambourine and dancing;
praise him with strings and flutes!
5 Praise him with a clash of cymbals;
praise him with loud clanging cymbals.
6 Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord!
Praise the Lord!
