Join the Journey ! Theme of the Week: Integrity: Living Inside Out Monday, November 9, 2009
 1 of 1

Key Bible Verse: I focus on this one thing: Forgetting the past and looking forward to what lies ahead (Philippians 3:13). Bonus Reading: 1 Timothy 4:7-10
Many people think integrity is about perfectionism, legalism, and the glow of a halo illuminating your face.
We will have none of that here. We would rather bring decades-old wisdom of the great Eagles musician, Glenn Frey, to the table:"Rock and roll isn't about perfection. It's about excellence."
So is integrity. No one passes through life's rich pageant without character flaws. See, whether it's a big or little issue, we all got stuff.
Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote:"The force of character is cumulative." We need leaders to slip into the rhythm of making right choices. Imagine character just flowing from you because you have trained your mind, body, and soul. Choosing honor, nobility, and the good can become extensions of who we are. We reject the ineffective approach of those who focus simply on specific behaviors and miss the lifestyle approach.
Let's start here: Life is about mistakes, grace, more mistakes, and then greater grace. Character isn't a destination, but a journey toward becoming a more whole, complete, leader.

My Response: What changes might I need to make in order to develop a "lifestyle approach" to integrity?
