John Piper remarks [in Let the Nations Be Glad]:

"God is pursuing with omnipotent passion a worldwide purpose of gathering joyful worshipers for himself from every tribe and tongue and people and nation. He has an inexhaustible enthusiasm for the supremacy of his name among the nations. Therefore, let us bring our affections into line with his, and, for the sake of his name, let us … join his global purpose."

It isn't just the job of paid pastors, evangelists, and missionaries to scatter the seed of the new life God desires to give to every human being. None other than Jesus himself calls you to take your place among the "great cloud of witnesses" (Heb. 12:1, NIV) through whom he has been spreading his kingdom's life for many centuries and continues to work now throughout our world. You are not a beleaguered minority up against impossible forces. You are a privileged member of the greatest movement in history and the only one that will be around in the end (Rev. 22). Christ has promised to supply you with the power to do this work and, as history shows, Jesus always keeps his promises.
