Jesus never traveled [very far] during his earthly ministry. Yet the gospel has been spread around the world by men who have gone on to do greater works on earth.
Now, if Jesus said that you will do "greater works" than he did, then God does not have a problem with greatness. Neither does he have a problem with the recognition of greatness, as we saw [yesterday] when he said he would make both Abraham and David's names great.
If you have shrunk away from your innate desire for [greatness], you have walked right into the enemy's trap. The enemy doesn't want you to realize that true greatness involves analyzing your gifts, talents, skills, and capacity in God's name and for his glory, and then maximizing them in an effort to expand your impact on others.
God's agenda is to advance his kingdom down the field of life, and to do so, he is looking for men who will rise to the occasion in their bid for greatness. Yet to rise to the occasion to be great, you must first give yourself permission to want it.
