Key Bible Verses: I wait quietly before God, for my victory comes from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress where I will never be shaken. (Psalm 62:1-2)
Dig Deeper: Psalm 62
If your life is based on the everlasting Rock of God, then you can have absolute confidence no matter what happens. For instance:
If you went to college and got a great job, but then lost it in a recession, you can be absolutely confident that God has a purpose for the difficulty and that your life isn't ruined, even though your résumé might be.
If you got a life-threatening disease at an early age, you can be absolutely confident God has a plan even in the midst of this extreme hardship.
If you married your dream girl, but over the years the stresses of child rearing and work schedules have put tension in your marriage, you can be confident that God will keep you in perfect peace no matter the challenges in your relationship.
If you're a father and your eyes are on Jesus and the principles in God's Word, you can be absolutely confident that God is working in the lives of your children.
No matter what life throws at you, it's not your win-loss record that counts. It's your faithfulness.

My Response: Why should I trust God even when life seems to be throwing all kinds of curve balls my way?

Prayer for the Week
Heavenly Father, forgive me when I focus more on success than on obedience; impress on my heart that lasting satisfaction only comes from an ever-deepening relationship with you.
