Key Bible Verse: O my people, trust in him at all times. Pour out your heart to him, for God is our refuge. (Psalm 62:8)
Dig Deeper: Psalm 62
Jesus invites us to repent and see through the eyes of a child.
The curiosity of a child helps to span the gaps of certainty with hope. Jesus invites us to repent and see through the eyes of a child. Come and revisit your stories, your wounds, and your mysteries in the light of childlike trust that "things will be okay."
What if we embraced our story of being abused as a child—searching and asking for a new story that God may be telling with that tragedy, with that wound?
What if we tore our narrative apart, the one that says God is as addicted to certainty in faith as we are, with why questions, the repetitive plea of a child?
What if we held our deepest desires in our small palms, and extended them before curious Jesus and asked, "What about this? What do I do with this?"
The story of how God is shaping our spirit and soul is a living document. The way you walk with it, the way you live it with health and beauty, is to learn to embrace it with curiosity.
The more we ask, the more we explore, the more we push and stretch and hold to the light, the more mystery we can stand near and yet be quieted in our soul (Ps. 131), the more penetrating our vision into the kingdom of God will become.
