Hey Dad,

Just a quick note before we rush out the door on our next Familyman Mobile adventure. We're off to Georgia, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, and Michigan. Because my technology is limited, the Familyman Weekly will be off the net for a couple of weeks. But before I go, I want to remind you of a couple things.

#1—Don't forget Mother's Day is next weekend (May 9). Make sure you honor not only your mother, but the mother of your children as well. Give her a card, take her out for lunch … something. Now don't give me the line, "She's not my mother!" I know she's not your mother. Your job is to honor your wife for your kids, and then your wife gets a card and a blouse for your mother.

#2—I've had a bunch of wives who have written in to ask me to fine tune their husbands. I could address all the individual needs, but that would take a long time. Besides, that would be the chicken way out. Remember, you 'da husband!

It's your marriage, your wife, and here's the kicker—your responsibility.

Sooo … tonight after the kids are in bed, ask your wife this question: "Is there anything I'm doing or not doing that I need to know about to make you feel more loved?"

Once your wife regains consciousness, ask it again, and don't settle for an "everything's fine" kind of answer. Let her speak her mind. Don't say anything except that you'll work on it, and that she can talk to you about anything. Then work on it.

I know this sounds incredibly difficult, but hey, that's what marriage is all about!
