Hey Dad,

We're packing up 'the Beast' and planning to head out on a threeeee week cruise, a three week cruise (images of Gilligan's Island). If you have a few spare seconds, would you please pray that the RV would run smoothly, that we would be safe, and that I would be a good husband and dad along the way?

Because of time I'm going to make this short. In fact, I'm going to give you a dad-tip from my son Abe (10). Let me set the story. A week ago I was minding my own business on my way to the bathroom to take care of … business. As I walked through the bathroom door, I was greeted by an explosion of little ½- inch wide sticky notes in a rainbow of colors stuck all around the toilet corner wall.

Each note had three little words on it, "I love you." And all were lovingly written and placed there by my son Abe. It was like an outpouring or avalanche of love notes. As I sat … on the throne, surrounded by my son's love I thought, "Who doesn't love to be lavished with love notes?"

Afterwards, I found Abe and returned the love, and since then, every time I walk into the bathroom, I am greeted by the notes (although they're starting to fall off).

So here's an Abe-tip for you, Dad: pick up one of those little variety packs of 1/2" X 2" sticky notes (I think they must be page highlighters), write I Love You on each one and then stick the daylights out of your wife's dresser, son's desk, family bathroom mirror … or the space surrounding the toilet.

I'm telling you, THEY will feel as loved by their dad/husband as I felt loved by my son Abe.
