Prince Caspian, the second film in the Chronicles of Narnia franchise, doesn't hit theaters until May 16, but the buzz and hype machines are in full swing. A behind-the-scenes featurette, which includes some of the first footage of the mouse character Reepicheep in action, can be watched on YouTube, while a brand new trailer has been posted on MySpace.
Meanwhile, popular rock band Switchfoot has recorded a song, "This Is Home," to play over the end credits of the movie. Singer/songwriter Jon Foreman says the song "was inspired by the book. I am always taken by [C. S.] Lewis' ability to write about the bittersweet beauty in this world; this home we aren't really made for but is the place we work out our humanity in the midst of our longing for our true home."
Disney has also begun arranging group screenings of the film for churches and other organizations. Bully Pulpit has a list of available dates.
As for future installments in the Narnia series, Cinema Blend reports that the fate of the franchise isn't entirely sure, as there are no immediate plans for any movies beyond the third, The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. According to MTV, however, producers are already thinking about possible directors for The Silver Chair.
