Hard to believe it's been a decade since we first met Woody, Buzz and the gang, but today Pixar celebrates the 10-year anniversary of Toy Story with a features-packed special edition. Though fans will forever argue about which of the Toy Story films is superior, there's no denying that the originalthe first full-length computer-animated film ever maderanks among the most influential, flat-out best films of the 1990s.
The two-disc set includes deleted scenes, an interactive game, and numerous documentary featurettes, including "The Legacy of Toy Story," "The Making of Toy Story," "Filmmakers Reflect," and a six-part behind-the-scenes feature.

Epic, multi-character mosaics are tough to pull off; just ask Paul Thomas Anderson (Magnolia) or Robert Altman (Short Cuts). Paul Haggis, writer of Million Dollar Baby, joins these esteemed ranks with Crash, but, where Anderson's film is about divine intervention, Haggis tackles the touchy subject of race relations. Everyone from Don Cheadle to Sandra Bullock to rapper Ludacris join him for this big, busy, socially aware drama.
After a surprisingly successful, extended theatrical run, the movie comes, uh, crashing into homes in a modestly packaged DVD release. Among the special features are a full audio commentary from Haggis, deleted scenes, and a making-of documentary.

Other new DVDs scheduled for release today include:
You might think 3-Iron is a movie about golf, but it's actually a strange, grown-up fairy tale from Korean director Kim Ki-Duk (Spring, Summer, Fall, Winter
and Spring). And get this: The film's main character doesn't speak a single word in the entire film. (Incidentally, there are a good many films that make me wish the main character never spoke a single word. Anything with Keanu Reeves, for instance.)
Charles Dickens' classic Oliver Twist returns to the big screen later this yearthis time brought to life by director Roman Polanski (Chinatown, The Pianist)but those who can't wait that long may want to rent the 1985 film adaptation.
Not quite The Exorcism of Emily Rose, The Holy Girl releases on DVD today.
Last week, we forgot to mention the new Volume 1 of The Shirley Temple Collection, which includes the films Curly Top, Heidi, and Little Miss Broadway.
