Hey, it's that "unusual singer girl!"
interview by Michael Herman
posted 04/08/02
Not surprisingly, our interview with talented young songwriter Ginny Owens reveals her introspection and her spritual insights. What might be news to any of you who haven't met her is her sense of humor and her indecisiveness you'll see what what we mean, as she talks about her likes/dislikes, her new album Something More, and her interesting choice of a "dream job."
What three words best describe you?
Me? Well, it could be "unusual singer girl," or "introverted class clown," or maybe "warm, soft, and squishy," or perhaps "silly singing bird." It really depends on who you ask.
What three words best describe your new album?
"One worth buying!" Just kidding
how about "upbeat, yet thoughtful?"
If you weren't a musician, what profession would interest you?
I'd be a counselor, a freelance writer, or an educator of some type.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Reaching the state of adulthood and living comfortably and independently there.
Which words or phrases do you overuse?
"Like" and "totally."
What are some of your pet peeves?
Rude sales people, and people that shout at me because they think I'm deaf. (Note: Ginny has been blind since age two).
When are you most productive?
When I have to be.
What are your spiritual gifts?
I can't say for sure
I enjoy being an encourager a listener and a cheerleader.
What's something from this past month you'd like to do over?
All of the leisure time.
What artist would you like to see receive more exposure?
David Wilcox.
What's a great lesson you've been taught?
"This, too, shall pass" and "do what you say you will do."
Do you have a hidden talent?
Hmmm
I love to cook, and I can speak with several different accents. Do those count?
What language would you like to be able to speak?
Spanish, Arabic, and Pig Latin.
What's something you could only tolerate if your future spouse really liked it?
Well, since I don't have a spouse, I can only imagine. I think it'd be seafood being cooked in the house.
Do you collect anything?
Hotel card keys and backstage permits not necessarily on purpose, but I find them everywhere in my house.
What would you like less of in your life?
Chaos.
What job would you like to do for a day?
Work at McDonalds, and/or host a talk show.
When was the last time you were nervous?
Every time I've had to perform in front of music industry people.
If you could meet any person in history, who would it be?
Jesus (no, really!) and Queen Esther.
This or That:

Social Butterfly or HOMEBODY?
Indoors or Outdoors? "Gonna have to say both again."

Gold or SILVER?
Spicy or MILD? "Well, mostly mild."
