The board of trustees at Princeton Theological Seminary has named Craig Barnes as the school's seventh president.

Barnes is currently pastor at Shadyside Presbyterian in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, where he also has served as professor of pastoral ministry and leadership at Pittsburgh Theological Seminary since 2002. Prior to his current faculty role, Barnes also served as pastor of National Presbyterian Church in Washington, D.C., for 10 years.

Barnes will continue to serve as professor of pastoral ministry at Princeton, which is the oldest, largest, and most influential seminary in the Presbyterian Church (USA).

CT has previously interviewed Barnes about "getting restless" and reviewed his book Searching for Home in 2004. Barnes also served as editor-at-large for Leadership journal and contributed his thoughts on the law of Gravitas.
