Expecting God's Miracles
A paralyzed woman witnesses a miracle of a changed heart.
Anonymous

Barbara, paralyzed during a car accident, can't drive. She relies on several caregivers, one specifically designated to drive her to and from church.

One caregiver, Alison, a hard-hearted, recently divorced woman, weekly picked up Barbara for church. Though Alison wasn't aware of it, Barbara saw these moments as opportunities for ministry. Not only would Alison join Barbara at church, but she also talked about the message on the way home.

Because of these conversations and Barbara's unwavering kindness, Alison began to open up. She told Barbara she didn't want to live anymore. While Alison went through her daily tasks of cleaning, transporting, and caring for Barbara, she saw how Barbara dealt with her disability, treated people, and relied on God. Watching Barbara, Alison saw a God of love, forgiveness, hope, and strength. Barbara testified to miracles in her life—not miracles of complete healing, but the mundane miracles of daily provision.

Alison yearned for this healing. One day she told Barbara that God miraculously gave her the hope she so desperately desired. Over time, Alison grew to love and trust in God, and when Barbara began to host a small group in her home, Alison joined.
