Rolling Down the Aisle
As lifestyle editor of my local newspaper, I often receive calls about wedding announcements.
A young man called recently and asked how much it would cost to place one. When I told him it was free, he exclaimed with surprise, "For real?! That's the first thing about this wedding that hasn't cost me anything!"

To save money, I decided to help the florist by gathering magnolia branches to decorate the church for my daughter's wedding. I'd collected some limbs from friend's trees, but it wasn't enough. I found some beautiful magnolias on what I thought was a public road and loaded my car's trunk and back seat with the branches.
A couple hours later, my husband Hugh called me saying the police were looking for me for trespassing and destruction of property. He said I'd been on the property of the state's largest manufacturing companywhose owner happened to prize his treesand that a security guard had taken down my license plate number. I panicked and let out a yell.
After a good-natured lecture, my husband finally confessedthe security guard was a friend of his. He realized who I was when he checked the car registration. Even though I had gotten a little carried away, the security guard let me off the hook. Embarrassed at my gaffe, I made sure I apologized and thanked him after the wedding, which was beautifully resplendent with magnolias.

My son Eric never took his eyes off his bride-to-be Nikki as she gracefully came down the aisle in her wedding dress. When she reached the platform next to the baptismal pool they joined hands and faced one another.
Suddenly, they both began to shake slightly, as if they were laughing. It kept getting worse. I'd thought they'd been overcome with emotion until after the service when I learned some prankster had released 24 leaping goldfish into the baptismal pool!
