Rolling Down the Aisle
Because another ceremony was taking place in the sanctuary when we arrived early for our wedding rehearsal, we all went downstairs to wait. That is, everyone except one of our ushers.
Thinking "dress rehearsal," Elmer came in his wedding attire and immediately started seating peopleupstairs. It never occurred to him that anything was amiss until the groom a complete strangerentered with the minister. Elmer made a quick exit downstairs where he thankfully saw familiar faces.

My niece Lois was kneeling at the altar with her husband-to-be, Bob, when he suddenly looked like he might faint. With reflex action, Lois quickly began slapping Bob's face. It worked.
The ceremony continued without a further hitch. The vows were exchanged and the couple turned to walk down the aisle. Just then Lois crumpled to the floor in a dead faint.
Before her new husband could respond with a few slaps of his own, her father jumped up, slung her over his shoulder, and headed out the exit.

With most of my girlfriend's wedding guests arriving from out-of-state, the couple decided to keep the rehearsal as brief as possible. The Scripture readers were told when to read, but there wasn't time to actually go through their passages.
That was unfortunate for the nervous brother of the groom who kept pronouncing the biblical term Yahweh "Yahoo." By the third Yahoo, the congregation was laughing out loud. I pray that someday he'll find out who Yahweh isthat's worth a big Yahoo!
