A Whale of a Movie (from QuickTakes)
The long-awaited VeggieTales movie premieres next week.
If you happen to be one of the millions of kids and adults who like to talk to tomatoes and waltz with potatoes, then we've got a show for you! October 4 marks the premiere of the long-awaited Jonah: A VeggieTales Movie, which is opening in more than 1,100 theaters across the nation.
As always, the folks at Big Idea Productions have taken a classic Bible story and turned it into a rollicking ride that entertains as it teaches lessons about God's love and mercy. Bob and Larry, Junior Asparagus, Laura Carrot, the French Peas, and those wacky Pirates Who Don't Do Anything are all on board for this inspired retelling of Jonah's adventure.
The computer animation is stunning, and the music is delightful. But the question remains: Can a wholesome diet of singing vegetables take root at the box office? Lettuce hope so.
