- Naomi, the mother-in-law of Ruth (Ruth 1:20).
- Jacob, who was renamed Israel, and who walked with a limp afterward (Gen. 32:28).
- Simon, whose new name "Peter" means "rock" (Matt. 16:13-17).
- Paul, whose Hebrew name was Saul. Acts begins referring to him as Paul in 13:9.
- Moses's (Ex. 2:18, 3:1). Since Jethro means "excellence," it may have been a title instead of his name.
- Barnabas (Acts 4:36).
- Sinai, where Moses and, later, Elijah both encountered the Lord.
Bonus Puzzler: Esau ("hairy") and Edom ("red"), the twin brother of Jacob. His descendants were the Edomites.
