Top tracks: “Come Thou Fount,” “What Wondrous Love (How Deep),” “Among the Hills”

Roberts, a collaborator with Newsboys and Point of Grace and a student of violin virtuoso Tracy Silverman, already has his fingerprints all over Nashville. But the Tennessee-bred artist is branching out here with an instrumental worship album, steeped in the Americana tradition but also ripe with Celtic, classical, and jazz influences. That potpourri makes conventional covers like “The Heart of Worship” or “Come Thou Fount” leap to life, while originals indicate a prowess that lands somewhere between pensive and prayerful.
