Top tracks: “Our God Reigns,” “As for Me and My House,” “Somebody Else’s Story”

Refusing to water down his worship-tilting brand of modern pop/rock with cliché church phrasing, singer/songwriter Waller gives Christian music a boost with his convicted tunes. Whether using chiming background vocals to dynamically push the declarative bridge of the title track, rootsy mandolin and fiddle to color the pop-country prayer of “Somebody Else’s Story,” or searing electric lines to shape a positive perspective on the Mac Powell co-write “Because God Is Good,” Waller uses his fervent musical language to convey meaty messages of faith, grace, and redemption. He may not be Christian music’s most popular voice, but he is one of its finest.
