Style: R&B-infused modern pop/rock; compare to Group 1 Crew, Bruno Mars, Janelle Monae
Top tracks: “Rescue In Reach,” “Ground Zero,” “Zone of Glory”
After four years of performing around Indianapolis, Judah Band drops its first full-length with a multi-cultural melting pot of members and sounds. Comprised of seven singers and five band members, Search + Rescue is ripe with R&B-infused harmonies and an explosive pop/rock wall of sound. The group’s broad genre base allows for an expansive audience, but it’s never at the expense of continuity, recalling cross breeders like Group 1 Crew or Bruno Mars. Though the lyrics are grounded in the gospel, there’s also a street-savvy edge that could just as easily find a home beyond just the church.
