Top Tracks: “Abide,” “O That the Light,” “See the Conqueror”

While the idea of a married couple making music together may induce eye rolls from some, on Open Your Doors, Jenny & Tyler follow the lead of couples like Derek Webb and Sandra McCracken, with beautiful vocal harmonies and thoughtful arrangements. Both artists play guitar, sing, and write; and they appear equally skilled as they alternate leads throughout a compilation of folk-pop songs and traditionally structured, original hymns—definitely the album’s highlight. Lyrical content matches the duo’s laid-back, reflective style as it describes peace amidst restlessness, contentment in wonder, and abiding love.
