Yates, who leads worship at Liverpool’s Bootle Elim Church, has plenty of appeal on his sophomore CD, thanks to envelope-pushing musical arrangements and poignant praises of God’s love and mercy. While evoking fellow British favorites like Matt Redman or Delirious (whose Stu G guests on guitar), Yates switches between electronically-spiked stadium shakers and surging, ethereal ballads, both highlighting his inviting vocals. Overall, the project serves as a means of motivation and restoration while tastefully expanding the boundaries of typical modern worship.
