With this issue CHRISTIANITY TODAY begins its fifteenth year of publication. Our readers should note the restatement of our purposes in the editorial pages. We are grateful to God for his mercies and for his continuing provision for our financial needs. The essay on COCU is the first of two in which we examine the basic issues in this projected merger of key denominations. In the second part, which will appear next issue, we will explore the parish plan and the question of the historic episcopate. Two essays in this issue deal with racism, a problem that has wracked churches as well as governments and nations. Dr. Daniels, a black psychiatrist, speaks compellingly about the psychodynamics of racism, while Dr. Hodges explores the biblical principles that relate to racism and their application to current situations.
