Style: Genre-bending teen pop; compare to tobyMac, Family Force 5, Jump5

Top tracks: "Let It Roll," "Karaoke Superstars," "Hey, Hey"

On their second remix CD (following 2003's Regeneration), Grammy-nominated Superchick gives salivating young fans a snack. Taking nine hits from their discography, they remake tongue-in-cheek versions befitting every cheesy movie scene imaginable, including "teens falling out of love" and "bad guys walking in slow motion." It's crazy, but it works: The sonic scenarios are perfectly envisioned and the beats pop. They've even included three new songs like standout single "Let It Roll"—a mellow, whimsical solo by bassist Matt Dally that bops along to a Bob Marley vibe. Reinvention is definitely filler, but if you're a Superchick-loving teen, these energetic, danceable remakes will tide you over until their next new record.
