Style: Ethereal, Windham Hill-esque piano and guitar instrumentals

Top tracks: "Of Time and the Frio," "Like Walking on Water"

Pianist Jeff Johnson had been making Windham Hill-flavored ambient music for years. When he met guitar master Phil Keaggy at a Chrysostom Society retreat at Texas' Laity Lodge last January, they hit it off. For music aficionados, that's a beautiful thing. They stayed in touch and created this entire album via e-mail, with Johnson recording tracks in Seattle, Keaggy in Nashville. It's a sublime lineup of eight richly textured instrumental tracks—almost an hour in all—that capture, as the liner notes suggest, "a place where heaven and earth truly meet."
