While Eminem released back-to-back albums titled Relapse and Recovery, Christian rapper Lecrae decided he was ready for Rehab. The album follows a theme from start to finish: He's a sin-sick soul in need of confession, forgiveness, redemption, and restoration. The album begins with "Check In" and concludes with "Release Date"—with plenty of rehab in between. "Divine Intervention" is a plea for just that, "Just Like You" a call for male role models, "Used to Do It Too" a confession of past sins, "Background" a statement that God is in control. The raps are tight, the lyrics smart, and stellar guest vocalists—including Anthony Evans, Tedashii, Trip Lee, and P.O.D.'s Sonny Sandoval—give the project a well-rounded eclecticism.
