Style: Alt-country Americana; compare to Lucinda Williams, Robert Plant, Emmylou Harris
Top tracks: "I Want to Be with You Always" (w/ Patty Griffin), "Return to Me" (w/ Lee Ann Womack), "God's Wing'ed Horse" (w/ Julie Miller)
The Americana boss culls Nashville's finest folk musicians to redesign a handful of country classics and contribute a few of his own vintage tunes. High caliber collaborations with pining folk balladeers like Patty Griffin, Emmylou Harris, Shawn Colvin, Lee Ann Womack, and wife Julie Miller inject the chiming country carols with loads of heart and soul, represented by pedal steel drenched serenades ("Why I'm Walkin'" w/ Emmylou) and folksy Motown ("No Good Lover" w/ Ann McCrary). Though this tracklist mostly doesn't directly reflect Miller's Christian faith, his musical excellence possesses divine substance aplenty.
