Style: Pop-punk; compare to MxPx, The Rocket Summer, Hellogoodbye

Top tracks: "One Headlight," "Baby," "Motorcycle Drive By"

Punk rock's love-hate relationship with Top 40 radio continues with K Is for Karaoke. Relient K has always done silly very well (remember their version of "The Pirates Who Don't Do Anything"?), but these covers are uncharacteristically straightforward. The band doesn't take many liberties in making a Third Eye Blind song their own; it sounds more like Matthew Thiessen just became the lead singer of a local cover band. But the point here is carefree fun, and that's what the album provides from start to finish. It's music to sing along to without thinking too hard about, the way you would at a real karaoke bar.
