Style: Urban gospel; compare to Mary Mary, Tye Tribbett, VaShawn Mitchell
Top tracks: "No Betta" (ft. Faith Evans), "Never Hurt Again" (ft. Sean Hardin & Jor'el Quinn)
As one of gospel music's most entrepreneurial spirits, Haddon once again acts as artist, songwriter, producer, and A&R guy to helm the soundtrack for his latest film, A Beautiful Soul. Relying on the multi-timbre talents of his vocal crew, Voices of Unity, as well as famous standouts like Kierra Sheard and Faith Evans, Haddon explores a variety of musical territories—hip-hop, urban balladry, and gospel—cohesively, thanks to a persistent electronic backbone and storyline lyrics. Though not the most interesting of his collections, this track list is still definitive Deitrick urban gospel, worthy of the genre's attention.
