Style: Righteous, funkalicious gospel; compare to Robert Randolph, Tower of Power

Top tracks: "I'm Not Tired," "Always By My Side," "Wade in the Water"

Brothers Alvin, Derrick, and Keith Lee grew up in a House of God church in Miami, where their father was a pastor who played the electric lap steel guitar. They picked up the family tradition of blues-based "sacred steel"—learning other instruments along the way—and formed a family band, picking up a couple nephews along the way. Instrumentally, these guys are as funkaliciously righteous as anything you've heard from Robert Randolph (on the steel) or Tower of Power (on the horns). But vocally, they're pretty mediocre and a bit pitchy, with one exception—when guest singer Gia Wyre vamps her way through the traditional "Wade in the Water," making you want to dive in too.
