Saturday is for Seminars: Orlando, Monterey, San Diego, and L.A. (Lower Alabama)

The next two weeks, I'm headed to Orlando, Monterey, San Diego, and Alabama. I'm looking forward to meeting new people and serving the church in these places. Here's what I'm up to:

Tuesday, November 3—Renovate Conference, Orlando, FL

If you are unfamiliar with Renovate. Here is a bit about their mission from their website:

RENOVATE seeks to influence, train, and equip, a group of church revitalizers that multiplies rapidly across the west with effective principles, ideas and solutions for the enhanced reproduction of church renewal in America.

We seek to assist the local church in becoming fully restored and actively bold in its ongoing witness for Jesus Christ! Ours is a ministry of coming alongside of the local church and help accelerate the restoration necessary to revitalize the church. RENOVATE is not in competition with the church, but a vessel to assist the church through renewal and revitalization.

I am privileged to speak a number of times at Renovate this year. Here's when I'm speaking and my topics:

8:30am Breakout: How Groups Can Help Turnaround a Church

A look at the best practices of small groups and Sunday School classes, leading to greater evangelistic and missional effectiveness.

10:45am Main Session: The Mandate of the Mission: Sharing Jesus

How churches are mobilizing people to showing and sharing the love of Jesus— a clarion call to evangelism.

1:30pm Breakout: Transformational Church: Mission

Looking at the data in Transformational Church, how churches share Jesus by demonstrating the love of Christ through acts of service.

3:45pm Main Session: Recovering Confidence in the Gospel

Our churches are often filled with good people listening to good people telling them how to be good people. But, how can we be so much more— part of it is rediscovering confidence in the gospel.

It's pretty last minute, but if you would like to come and you have not yet registered, sign up here. There are a bunch of great speakers and seminars.

Friday, November 6th—Organic Outreach Conference, Monterrey, CA

Want to learn more about the Organic Outreach conference? Check out this video:

Here's a bit of what I'll be up to at the conference, from their website:

Main Session: The Outer Limits: The Commissions to the Edges

We'll look at how the commissions of Jesus compel us to live sent, to all peoples, with a message, and empowered by the Spirit.

Breakout Session 1: Pushing to the Outer Limits

In this session, we will show how the church is to be driven by its mission, not its preferences. It’s not about you— it’s about Jesus’ mission.

Breakout Session 2: The Mission Force to the Outer Limits of the Mission Field

In this session, we will look at the state of the mission field and the mission force called to engage it. This session will be strong in analysis of culture, church, and important trends.

Again, it's pretty short notice, but if you want to join us, you can still register here. And, again, great speakers and seminars.

Saturday, November 7th—Assemblies of God Leaders Retreat, San Diego, CA

I'm looking forward to this probably because it is a smaller gathering of about 70 younger Assemblies of God leaders spending some time together to learn, rest, and refresh.

I am grateful for the work of the pastor in the local church, and I'm glad to be joining these people on their retreat to hopefully encourage them in their work a bit. Pray for us as we gather together next Saturday.

Unlike the other meetings, this is not a public one, so just pray for us. The Assemblies of God has actually done a pretty good job engaging the younger generation, particuarly in contrast to other denominations, and things like this are part of the reason why.

Sunday, November 15th—Alabama Church Planting Dinner, Fairhope, AL

Here's a bit about the church planting dinner:

Church Planters and wives or anyone interested in “planting” are invited to this event! Make plans now to be a part of this family reunion of kingdom-minded Alabama Baptists. Participants are urged to consider staying for the Alabama Baptist Pastors Conference and State Convention meetings at Eastern Shore Baptist Church on November 17-18.

Registration is definitely still open for this event, and we're still a couple of weeks out, so you have time to work it into your schedule. Join us! Register here. I'll be preaching at the Alabama Pastors Conference the next day, but more on that next time.
