I Was So Hurt!

Jasmine once thought nothing compared to the jazzed feeling she got from cheerleading.

When the girls looked at my life, I wanted them to see Christ, so whenever I had to leave practice early to go to youth group, I extended an invitation to anyone who wanted to join me. I also wore a lot of Christian T-shirts, which often led to conversations about Christ. And I always prayed before every competition. Most importantly, I just tried hard to demonstrate God's love by the way I acted.

Over time, I saw changes in my teammates. I noticed they stopped using profanity. Also, many joined in the daily devotional meetings I led. These devotionals brought us closer as a team and gave the other cheerleaders a chance to learn more about God.

My teammates weren't the only ones who changed. I did, too. I used to think that nothing could compare to the jazzed feeling I got when I cheered in front of packed bleachers. Now I've found something that feels even better: sharing Christ with others.
