I've checked this week and nobody in the Pentecostal community is organizing a Strange Ice Conference. So far. Here's the rest of my research:
- On Monday, the news about American pastor Saeed Abedini, imprisoned in Iran, was not good.
- A bestselling Christian author says that the "Train up a child ..." Proverb leaves some parents with nothing but disappointment.
- Various Twitter reports say Sarah Bessey's book Jesus Feminist is the latest title to be rejected by LifeWay Christian Stores. Kinda makes me want to read it now.
- A respected Missouri pastor is forced to resign from his church for what has got to be the oddest of reasons. (Though currently, he has landed on his feet.)
- Canadian blogger Tim Challies scores an interview with John MacArthur on the recent conference and book.
- A culture writer for Salon says churches wrestling with the gay issue need to look to Joel Osteen for a solution.
- And now will the ushers please come forward? Maybe they should stay put. Giving is near Depression-era levels.
