Among the findings:<\/p>\n\n<p> 75 percent believe abortion involves the taking of human life<\/p>\n\n<p> 77 percent disapprove of abortion when &#8220;the pregnancy is unplanned and would interrupt a professional woman&#8217;s career&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p> 88 percent disapprove of abortion &#8220;as a repeated means of birth control.&#8221;<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; Reported in Good News, Mar\/Apr 1991<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-article-subhead1\">The Message on Mediums<\/h2>\n\n<p>Many American adults believe in psychic phenomena, but few have ever consulted an astrologer, medium, tarot card reader, or a psychic. That is the conclusion from a CBS poll of 984 adults. The study found:<\/p>\n\n<p> 64 percent believe in psychic phenomena<\/p>\n\n<p> 25 percent say they have personally experienced such a phenomenon<\/p>\n\n<p> 10 percent have ever consulted a medium or the like <\/p>\n\n<p> 1 percent consult a medium, etc., regularly.<\/p>\n\n<p>&#8211; Reported in Princeton Religion Research Center&#8217;s Emerging Trends, Feb. 1990<\/p>\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading is-style-article-subhead1\">Missionaries&#8217; Pressures<\/h2>\n\n<p>What problems do missionaries face? For what things do they need prayer?<\/p>\n\n<p>Cedric Johnson and David Penner surveyed 55 North American Protestant mission agencies with more than 100 staff members overseas. The missionaries listed the following problems, in rank order:<\/p>\n\n<p>1. Relationships with other missionaries<\/p>\n\n<p>2. Cultural adjustments<\/p>\n\n<p>3. Managing general stress<\/p>\n\n<p>4. Raising children<\/p>\n\n<p>5. Marriage difficulties<\/p>\n\n<p>6. Financial pressures<\/p>\n\n<p>7.
