Here&#39;s this week&#39;s highlights:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\t<li>\n\t\tChristian groups are asking a top rated cable network to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.thedenverchannel.com\/news\/christian-groups-call-for-cancellation-of-upcoming-black-jesus-show\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">call off the series <em>Black Jesus<\/em><\/a>, scheduled to debut a week from tomorrow.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tWhen an evangelism team blitzes nursing homes, residents know <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christianheadlines.com\/news\/nursing-home-evangelism-preaching-at-the-bus-stop-to-eternity.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">they can&#39;t defer the decision for ten years<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tIn Canada&#39;s French-language province, <a href=\"http:\/\/news.nationalpost.com\/2014\/07\/25\/whats-happening-to-montreals-churches-quebec-finding-new-ways-to-preserve-its-heritage-in-a-secular-age\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">a church closes every week<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tYou thought the comment sections of Christian blogs were heated, but that&#39;s nothing compared the writing and rewriting that goes on at <a href=\"http:\/\/www.religionnews.com\/2014\/07\/24\/wikipedia-edit-wars-religious-pages-people-cant-stop-editing\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">Wikipedia pages for Jesus, Christianity, The Catholic Church, etc<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tWorst case scenario: When dissent at a local church, in this case Mars Hill Seattle, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.komonews.com\/news\/local\/Ex-Mars-Hill-Church-members-We-are-not-anonymous-268726281.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">appears in mainstream media<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tThe members of Protect Portland Children bought a full-page ad in the local alternative weekly to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.katu.com\/news\/local\/Evangelical-group-works-to-convert-children-in-Portland-268380052.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">warn parents about Child Evangelism Fellowship&#39;s conversion tactics<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tNine suggestions for pastors entering a new church, <a href=\"http:\/\/www.revitalizeyourchurch.blogspot.ca\/2014\/07\/advice-for-new-pastor.html\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">or first time pastors<\/a>. (Sample: #1&mdash;&quot;You have only four jobs &#8230;&quot;)<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tChad Estes reviews Matthew Paul Turner&#39;s <em>Our Great Big American God<\/em>.
