While you ponder that, here&#39;s this week&#39;s link-o-rama:<\/p>\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n\t<li>\n\t\tA pastor reflects on being the one succeeding David Platt, even though Platt was never there. <a href=\"http:\/\/andyschmitz.tumblr.com\/post\/81301425405\/plattwasntenough\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">The downside of video preaching<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tThe most interesting thing about Thom Rainer&#39;s late March list of Twenty of the Most Influential Evangelicals in America was the ongoing <a href=\"http:\/\/thomrainer.com\/2014\/03\/31\/twenty-influential-evangelicals-america\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">suggestions and amendments that appear in the comments<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tSo &hellip; did Noah actually <em>preach<\/em> (as in the movie) or <a href=\"http:\/\/themasterstable.wordpress.com\/2014\/03\/30\/did-noah-preach\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">did his actions speak louder than words<\/a>?<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tRight now, John Hagee&#39;s <em>Four Blood Moons<\/em> is a huge bestseller in the Christian book market. But author Mark Hitchcock <a href=\"http:\/\/newsok.com\/edmond-pastors-book-adds-to-religious-conversation-about-lunar-eclipses-and-bible-prophecy\/article\/3950357\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">does not think the coming eclipses are prophetic markers<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tLast Thursday a New York Appeals Court overturned a 2012 ruling which now <a href=\"http:\/\/www.reuters.com\/article\/2014\/04\/03\/us-usa-new-york-prayer-idUSBREA321GF20140403\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">leaves schools unable to rent space to religious groups<\/a> in NYC.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tImagine having access to everything Billy Graham ever preached, from 1941 to 2006, typed, underlined and marked with his handwritten notes, for reading, printing, downloading and keyword searching. Now <a href=\"http:\/\/www.wheaton.edu\/Media-Center\/News\/2014\/04\/Billy-Grahams-Sermon-Manuscripts-Available-Online\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">everyone can have free access<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tEssay of the Week (1): A university English teacher&mdash;who also happens to be the daughter of Christian singer Ray Boltz&mdash;wrestles with the phrase, &#8220;<a href=\"https:\/\/lizboltzranfeld.wordpress.com\/2014\/04\/03\/the-anger-of-mothering\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">the agony of mothers<\/a>.&#8221;<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tJoni and Friends has released a new book for the fathers of children diagnosed with a disability. Over the weekend, she <a href=\"http:\/\/rachelheldevans.com\/blog\/needing-time-evangelical\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">moderated her extreme response<\/a> &hellip;<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\t&hellip; and perhaps World Vision Canada <em>wasn&#39;t<\/em> more tolerant, at least according to <a href=\"http:\/\/www.benedictionblogson.com\/2014\/04\/04\/world-vision-canada-covert-discrimination-i-was-blocked-from-hiring-a-gay-person-at-world-vision-canada\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">one former employee&#39;s decade-old story<\/a> &hellip;<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\t&hellip; Meanwhile, the blog Stuff Fundies Like goes a bit off-topic in order to send <a href=\"http:\/\/www.stufffundieslike.com\/2014\/04\/letter-to-a-world-vision-child\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">a goodbye letter to a formerly sponsored child<\/a>.<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tUnless you&#39;re prepared to spend big bucks, moving forward, you might not get as much mileage out of <a href=\"http:\/\/brandonacox.com\/communications\/facebook-algorithm-changes\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">your church Facebook page<\/a>. (For UK readers, would that be big <em>pounds<\/em> and <em>kilometerage<\/em>?)<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tIn addition to all the other changes he is making, Pope Francis is <a href=\"http:\/\/www.christiantoday.com\/article\/pope.allows.vatican.bank.to.stay.open\/36606.htm\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">reforming the scandal-ridden Vatican Bank<\/a> aka &#8220;The Institute of the Works of Religion.&#8221; (The name of the place that has my savings account pales in comparison.)<\/li>\n\n\t<li>\n\t\tFirst, the Bishop of Bling, then there was <a href=\"http:\/\/religion.blogs.cnn.com\/2014\/04\/05\/archbishop-of-atlanta-to-vacate-2-2-million-mansion-in-early-may\/\" target=\"_blank\" class=\"\" rel=\"noopener\">the Archbishop of Atlanta<\/a>.
