After the sad Twitter meltdowns (by which I mean “communication breakdowns”)<\/a> surrounding today’s Nines leadership conference (from which no one seems to have emerged more Christlike), a prayer.<\/p>

Jesus prayed that his followers may all be one.<\/em><\/p>

In the power of the Spirit, we join our prayers with his.<\/em><\/p>

O God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ,<\/p>

our only Savior, the Prince of Peace:<\/p>

give us grace seriously to lay to heart<\/p>

the great dangers we are in by our unhappy divisions.<\/p>

Take away all hatred and prejudice,<\/p>

and whatever else may hinder us<\/p>

from godly union and concord;<\/p>

that, as there is but one body and one Spirit,<\/p>

one hope of our calling,<\/p>

one Lord, one faith, one baptism,<\/p>

one God and Father of us all,<\/p>

so we may henceforth be all of one heart and of one soul,<\/p>

united in one holy bond of peace, of faith and charity,<\/p>

and may with one mind and one mouth glorify you;<\/p>

through Jesus Christ our Lord.<\/p>

I am the vine and you are the branches.<\/p>

Abide in me as I abide in you.<\/p>

As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you.<\/p>

No one has greater love than this,<\/p>

to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.<\/p>

You are my friends if you do what I command you;<\/p>

Intercessions are offered for the unity of the Church.<\/em><\/p>

Lord of the Church<\/p>

hear your people’s prayer.<\/p>

Silence may be kept.<\/em><\/p>

Lord Jesus Christ,<\/p>

who said to your apostles,<\/p>

‘Peace I leave with you, my peace I give to you’:<\/p>

look not on our sins but on the faith of your Church<\/p>

and grant it the peace and unity of your kingdom;<\/p>

where you are alive and reign with the Father<\/p>

in the unity of the Holy Spirit,<\/p>

one God, now and for ever.<\/p>
