In an article for <em>The Atlantic<\/em> Owen Strachen notes that the unborn &quot;royal baby&quot; was never called the &quot;royal fetus.&quot; Major media outlets usually prefer the not-quite-human state of being a fetus.<\/p>\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p>Strachen writes, &quot;No, over and over again, one after another, from the top of the media food chain to the bottom, Kate&#39;s &#39;fetus&#39; was called, simply and pre-committedly, a baby. Why was this? Because, as I see it, the royal baby <em>was<\/em> a baby before birth. The media was right; gloriously, happily right.
