Who Said It…Bruce & Stan
Bruce Bickel and Stan Jantz have written 40 books together, and do a weekly TV show called Christianity 101.
Bruce studied drama in college and tried to launch a career as a standup comedian. He became a lawyer instead, specializing in estate planning and trust law.
Stan managed a chain of Christian retail stores for more than 25 years. He's now a marketing consultant and partner in Mosaic Digital, a software company.
What He Said…The Lord Is My …
Psalm 23 says the Lord is your shepherd. What does that mean?
- He's not your chauffeur, taking you wherever you tell Him you want to go.
- He's not your butler, making sure you're comfortable every moment.
- He's not your tour guide, telling you in advance where you'll be going and what you'll be doing.
- He's your shepherd, leading you where you need to go to be fed and protected. He knows what's best for you. Sheep don't have a very high anxiety level. They're content to let the shepherd be in charge.
You may be thinking: I'm willing to go wherever and whenever He leads me. I just want to know how it's going to turn out.
The Lord isn't likely to tell you in advance. Don't be too anxious to see the next page of God's outline for your life. He'll turn the page and let you see it at exactly the right time. He wants you to learn to trust Him.
