Jesus of Nazareth, Part I
Peter D. Snow
Despite never receiving a user manual, Jesus still forged his own path and faced a profound challenge: to be confident in his ability to complete his calling—and fully commit to sharing it with the world.
In a landscape crowded with interpretations and analyses, this book embarks on a journey that diverges from tradition, offering a fresh and intimate look at what it may have been like to be Jesus.
People often find themselves in the presence of the Risen Christ and walk away with even more questions about Jesus of Nazareth. In his time, he was simply the man Jesus—before the transformation wrought by the resurrection.
Over time, myths have created confusion, making Jesus of Nazareth feel remote and the Risen Christ an almost unrelated magical figure. That division has blurred the real story.
In Jesus of Nazareth Part One: Poking the Hornets’ Nest, that confusion is cleared. This book draws the connection between the man and the Risen Christ, as Jesus actively shapes his mission, comes to terms with his role, and begins offering a message that could not fit into what already existed.

Featuring liturgical readings, psalms paired with popular hymns, useful indexes, and stories about each hymn, this resource is perfect for church services and group gatherings, as well as private and family worship. Discover a Path Forward with Complementarity
"Complementarity" by Gregg R. Allison
In Complementarity, theologian Gregg Allison presents a fresh vision for understanding God’s design for men and women as image bearers in the home, the church, and society. As a framework broader than either complementarianism and egalitarianism – and underlying both of them– complementarity affirms the equal dignity, significant difference, and flourishing interdependence of men and women.
Allison grounds his exploration of complementarity in the complex history of the relationship between women and men throughout church history, as well as the contemporary contexts of feminism, complementarianism, patriarchalism, and egalitarianism. He examines relevant passages from the Old and New Testaments before offering theological considerations of gender and how all Christians fulfill the offices of prophet, priest, and king. Allison concludes by explaining how a robust understanding of complementarity fosters mutual flourishing for male and female image bearers.
Allison offers a path forward for Christians who want to foster mutual support for male and female image-bearers within their churches and communities.
Leading Families to Make a Difference for Eternity
"The Legacy Life" by David Green (with Bill High)
We all want to live a life of meaning and significance. The problem is, when we think of a life that makes a difference, we think way too small. Our lives can and should make an impact today—and we should also be working toward building a legacy that lasts for generations to come.
Rejecting the current work-hard-then-retire mindset, David Green, founder and CEO of Hobby Lobby, and Bill High call us to a biblical view of ourselves and our families—a generational mindset. With a paradigm-changing perspective, this book helps you
- develop a legacy perspective on your life and family
- articulate and live out your mission and values
- recover from failures and celebrate successes
- tell your stories from generation to generation
It may feel strange at first, but when you shift your mindset to understand your life in generational terms, you’ll discover that you are part of a story that matters for eternity.
Finding Your Purpose When You Retire: What Comes Next for You?
L. Richard Bradley, PH. D.
Imagine you are standing on a cliff overlooking the line where the ocean and sky meet, wondering what’s “out there.” Ancient mariners would have said, “Thar’ be dragons.”
Now imagine you are close to retirement or newly retired, wondering: “What comes next for me? What will get me up each morning, excited for another day?” Paul tells us to “live a life worthy of our calling.” For most of your life, your calling or purpose was connected to your career. The door to this life closes when you retire, opening new doors and new opportunities to see what’s “out there” that would give your life new purpose. The challenge is finding these opportunities.
Using “guided journaling,” this book brings together faith-perspectives and adult development to explore the emotions associated with retirement and help you learn:
- where you are in your journey today;
- how you got there: key people, family events, life experiences (good/bad and everything in between), events in society, and issues you cared about deeply in your twenties, and still care about today; to
- create your own, unique “BEST FIT” retirement – one that fills the years left ahead of you with purpose and excitement!
God’s Plan to Use Weakness in Leaders
"The Clay Pot Conspiracy" by Dave Harvey
Bestselling author Dave Harvey unlocks the power of God’s extraordinary plan to use the weaknesses in the lives of Christian leaders to make the gospel shine.
When you signed on for ministry leadership, you didn’t realize there would be a clause. The suffering and sadness, fatigue and feebleness, troubles and trauma, are all a part of a conspiracy. The author calls it The Clay Pot Conspiracy: Our weakness + God’s power = Resilient ministry. It is God’s plan to use what we lack to build perseverance and press us to embody the gospel we preach.
Based on his extensive experience in ministry, Harvey unravels the conspiracy, helping readers understand how God is magnified and his grace is displayed in our response to weakness. Combining Scripture, gripping stories, and practical tools, he takes leaders on an exploration of seven surprising wonders within God’s plan, covering areas such as how God uses loss to bring life, the role of enemies, importing weakness into your team culture, and above all, dependence upon Christ.
- Concludes with a call to leaders to run the race of faith together, supporting one another, and finishing well.
- Foreword by Dane Ortlund.
Helping Leaders Find Freedom from Self-Sabotage
"The Spiritually Healthy Leader" by Dave Wiedis
The Spiritually Healthy Leader uncovers the core commitments that threaten to sabotage your relationships and ministry.
Most ministry leaders don’t usually implode from outside pressures; rather, they are most often incapacitated from their inner struggles. Dave Wiedis, the Founder of ServingLeaders Ministries, helps pastors, counselors, and teachers uncover what is functionally most important to them, understand how their core commitments or “ruling passions” can hijack their lives, marriages, and ministries, and gently guides them to grow in their passion for God.
The Spiritually Healthy Leader exposes these root causes and offers the path to deep life transformation, freedom in Christ, and deliverance from self-sabotage. With Christ as the true center of their lives and ministry, leaders can walk vibrantly with God, live free from self-sabotage of the heart, experience the ripple effect of spiritual flourishing, and see that effect positively impact close relationships, families, churches, and the next generation.
- Helps uncover the root causes of self-sabotage so leaders can understand what hinders life and ministry.
- Actionable, gospel-focused direction to encourage spiritual flourishing and living wholeheartedly for Christ.
- Based on decades of experience counseling Christian leaders, author Dave Wiedis understands the pressures of ministry and wisely guides them to depend on Christ.

Turning a Text of Words Into an Experience of Worship
"Keeping the Ink Wet" by Kevin G. Yell
Preachers, presiders, worship planners, and actors are all trying to do one thing: make the words on the page come alive, making the texts of their respective authors “flesh” in real time and space. To do it successfully takes a mixture of natural talent, skills training, and lots of rehearsal. It’s the work of communication, and the purpose is always to invite the audience or congregation into an experience of some mix of truth, beauty, hope, and reconciliation. Performers take years training in the skills needed. Ministers, unfortunately, often receive very little help or support in developing their own unique way of taking what is inside them—their faith and questions, their love and wisdom—and using that depth to open the living word of God. A script, after all, is just a starting point. It is neither a play nor an act of worship until it has a body with breath to give it life. Each of us is that body, called to play with the Author to find meaning in the words. Consider this an invitation to come and play!
