Sexual Detox

A review of Tim Challies’ guide for single and married men.

The Facts:Sexual Detox is a thirty-page download, or e-book, from popular blogger Tim Challies. The e-book began as a series of blog posts which Challies organized into book format in response to the deluge of positive feedback he received from his readers. The book comes in two versions: one for single guys and one for married. Both versions can be downloaded from Challies’ website, www.challies.com/christian-living/sexual-detox-the-e-book.

The Slant: The e-book is available for free. “You are free to download the e-book and to pass it along however you see fit,” Challies writes, “in either printed or electronic formats.” But Sexual Detox is also frank, pastoral, and insightful. Each of the short chapters ends with discussion questions, which means the guide could be used as an aid in counseling or by men in an accountability setting. It also includes a page of additional resources.
