Is Nature Healing?

Fox pays Dominion and fires Tucker, Joe Biden says “Let’s do it again,” and CT looks to the future.

This week Fox News settled with Dominion Voting Systems and fired Tucker Carlson, and President Joe Biden threw his hat in the ring for reelection. The Teacher of Ecclesiastes wrote, “To everything there is a season;” and here at The Bulletin, we’re wondering if the seasons are shifting subtly right before our eyes.

In this episode of The Bulletin, hosts Mike Cosper and editor in chief Russell Moore sit down with Nicole Martin and John Onwuchekwa of CT to talk about whether these events are signs of the times or a signal of hopeful days ahead. Does equal opportunity firing at Fox News and CNN imply movement toward more fair and balanced media reporting? Could a head-off between two 80-something presidential candidates foreshadow a necessary movement toward younger politics in the days to come? Is nature healing itself in the inevitable change of seasons, whether at the polls or in the pulpit? Join our hosts and special guests for lively conversation, including a sneak peek at the CT’s inspiring work to build up the church in the next generation and around the world.

Joining us this week: Nicole Martin serves Christianity Today as chief impact officer after serving on its board of directors. Nicole oversees three major strategic initiatives that are shaping the future of CT including The Global Initiative, the Big Tent Initiative, and the Next Gen Initiative. Martin worked as a business analyst for Deloitte before receiving her master of divinity from Princeton Theological Seminary, where she was the recipient of the David Hugh Jones Award in Music and the John Alan Swink Award in Preaching.

John Onwuchekwa is an Atlanta-based author, preacher, and entrepreneur. He's one of the founding pastors of Cornerstone Church, co-founder of Portrait Coffee–both in the Historic West End of Atlanta. In addition, he has served as the Co-Director for Content and Coaching for the Crete Collective – an organization aimed at strengthening gospel works in distressed and neglected Black and Brown Communities. Most recently, John has become the Director of Leadership Resources at Christianity Today. John is the author of Prayer: How Praying Together Shapes the Church and We Go On: Finding Purpose in All of Life’s Sorrows and Joys.
